Congratulations to Lynette Pretorius who has earned the Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education degree, Magna cum Laude. Lynette grew up in South Africa where fruit and vegetables were fresh from the local farmers, beef and lamb were grass-fed, chickens were free range, and pork wasn’t popular. She completed a degree in Food and Nutrition and worked at a couple of hospitals prior to moving to a small town and buying the local pharmacy where she stocked a good variety of natural medicines. When Lynette moved to the USA in 2001 her interest in nutrition grew as she noticed cheese and bread never went stale and fruits and vegetables had little taste. She entered Hawthorn to learn about holistic nutrition and how the body can heal itself and started using organic fruits and vegetables, grass fed meat, and raw milk. Lynette's goal is to teach others to learn about holistic nutrition and to make healthy life style changes. Her thesis is entitled, The Health Effects of Mercury Exposure on a Human Body. Great work, Lynette!
