Congratulations to Mary Egan for graduating Magna cum Laude from the Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education program. Mary graduated with honors from the University of Maryland receiving a BS degree. She is a certified holistic sports and life coach, an athlete, competitive USTA tennis player, USTA captain and head volunteer coach of Special Olympics Tennis. Mary is the founder of Solutions to Wellness, a company devoted to educating individuals, employers and employees, and mature adults to the importance of nutrition in achieving wellness and health. The mission of Solutions to Wellness is to help people achieve their goals through better life style choices while understanding the consequences of poor food choices. Mary writes “I believe strongly that each person is an individual with varying needs. I do not believe in the “one size fits all” approach to wellness and health.” As the Father of Medicine, Hippocrates said; “Let food be they medicine and medicine be thy food”. Her thesis is entitled Peri-Operative Nutritional Protocol for Total Joint Arthroplasty Patients to Optimize Surgery Experience, Recovery, Pain Management and Life Style. Mary just accepted a position as director of special projects with IRT and will be focusing on the issues facing the health of our food supply chain while also advising Orthopedic practices on Nutritional Protocols for patients.
