Nature: The Ultimate Gene Whisperer with Dr. Bianca Garilli, ND

Eating seasonally is a cornerstone of holistic nutrition!  The upcoming Hawthorn webinar with faculty member Dr. Bianca Garilli, ND will take you into the relationship between the changing seasons and its impact on genetic expression.  We will discuss how these circannual rhythms of the body play an integral part in our food choices and thus our health outcomes.  Join us and Dr. Garilli for Nature: The Ultimate Gene Whisperer.

Science has revealed that a full quarter of the human genome changes the way it is expressed based on the season and shift in weather and time of year.  Plants go through a similar change highlighting the importance of understanding the various energetics associated with plant foods and how this corresponds to the needs of the human body.  We will discuss several common conditions including hypothyroidism and cardiovascular disease and how seasonal eating can be more effectively applied in these scenarios.  Combining the ancient knowledge of the rhythmic changes of nature, humans and plants with 21st century research on clock genes and genetic expression will generate the potential for creating even more personalized and effective holistic wellness programs.
