Allesia Rausch

Allesia Rausch graduated from the Master of Science in Traditional Nutrition (MSTN) program. She also holds a bachelor's degree in dietetics from the University of Wisconsin. Many years ago Allesia presented a lecture on nutrition to a community plagued by poverty in Puerto Plata. As she concluded the presentation, she was overwhelmed with the sense of satisfaction she received by possibly helping others realize the importance of good nutrition. Allesia was recommended to Hawthorn by a former graduate whose success convinced her that by completing the MSTN program she would be able to provide nutrition counseling with a holistic approach. It is her mission to encourage others to achieve optimal health by adjusting lifestyles, renewing minds, and embracing spirits. Keep up the relentless determination, passion to learn, and eagerness to lead with your newly acquired knowledge. Allesia writes, "Every person has the ability to be in good health, and it is my purpose to help them find it." Congratulations!

Michelle (Mulreaney) Herrmann

Congratulations to Michelle (Mulreaney) Herrmann for graduating Summa cum Laude from the Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program.  Michelle began her holistic lifestyle education in her undergraduate education at Goucher College, studying the art of dance.  Dance kept her active physically and allowed her to grow emotionally and creatively.  While studying dance, she began cross-training with the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning through private apparatus instruction and mat classes.  Developing a deeper understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, and correct body mechanics, Michelle decided to become certified in the method.  Teaching Pilates to the public brought her a greater appreciation for physical health through all life’s stages.  When her mom was diagnosed with an unknown cancer, Michelle's interest in holistic health care and nutrition was peaked and she entered Hawthorn to further her education.  Her thesis, The MTHFR Polymorphism supported her premise that "women who are trying to get pregnant and have the MTHFR C677T gene mutation should supplement with L-methyltetrahydrofolate instead of folic acid” and is a reflection of her interest.  She plans to learn more about the field of epigenetics to provide her future clients a better picture of their own biochemical individuality. Best of luck, Michelle!

Amy Cochran

Congratulations to Amy Cochran on achieving Summa cum Laude for her Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition degree! Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Connecticut College. As a life-long athlete, Amy always had an appreciation for nutrition and its effects on the body, but it wasn’t until she started a family that her appreciation shifted to a genuine passion for good health. She unfortunately watched several loved ones succumb to health related illnesses, which inspired her to take the health of her young family into her own hands. After spending four years as a health and wellness consultant for a natural nutrition company, she enrolled in Hawthorn to further enrich her knowledge of holistic nutrition as a way to educate, counsel and inspire others to lead a healthy lifestyle - in mind, body and spirit! With a focus on restoring hormonal balance, Amy hopes to expand her private practice as well as develop an online holistic health community to spread her modern and sustainable philosophy of ‘good health’ to as many as possible. Amy’s thesis is entitled, The Hormonal Effects of Stress and its Contribution to Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome and Weight Loss Resistance. Best of luck to you, Amy!
