Tami Chu

Tami Chu is to be congratulated for receiving the Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition degree, Summa cum Laude. Before pursuing nutrition, Tami was a special education teacher with a Master’s degree in Deaf Education. She left teaching to raise and home school her four children who, along with their flock of backyard chickens, keep her pretty busy. She spent the last four years as a chapter co-leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation, promoting healthful living in her community. She currently runs a local food buyer’s club to encourage discounted purchases of organic products and teaches nutrition classes in a local church. Her journey into real food and holistic wellness began in childhood with homemade everything and a focus on natural products. The path was solidified when her fourth child, a twin, was born with multiple allergies that had him covered in rashes from 3 weeks old. When doctors couldn’t provide answers she went searching on her own. Her current interests lie in unifying microbial and nutritional research to make the highest impact on the most people. Her thesis is entitled Ancestral Fiber and the Gut Microbiome. Keep up the good work with your community, children, and chickens!
