About Hawthorn University
with Kathy McDermott,
Director of Admissions & Student Management
Hawthorn University is dedicated to providing supportive, comprehensive, and professional education in the fields of holistic health and nutrition through the utilization of distance education. All of our programs are Science & Evidence based with affordable tuition offered to a diverse community of adult learners working to enhance health and wellness around the world.
Our students are primarily working adults who are looking for a change in career into the holistic health and wellness field and have the desire to help teach others to live healthier lives. Hawthorn is 100% online and is flexible and accommodating to our busy adult students. We have open enrollment so students can begin at any time. Students also may take one course at a time and work at their own pace. We realize that many of our students have lots of outside responsibilities, so we understand that "not one size fits all" and we accommodate the individual learner.
Hawthorn offers programs for students at all levels in the field of holistic nutrition, from Certificate to Doctorate programs. Our Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition and Nutrition Consultant Certificate programs are both clinical programs where advanced courses include working with practice clients.
Our non-clinical programs prepare students to educate others about Holistic Health and Nutrition.
Our Nutrition Consultant Certificate, Masters Degrees and Doctorate Degree include current scientific information that prepare graduates for the Holistic Nutrition Credentialing Board Exam and a career in health and wellness.
Our faculty are all credentialed professionals possessing experience in their field. Their academic demeanor, coupled with the customer service attitude of the Hawthorn administration and staff, make Hawthorn a wonderful place to study.
