Many people with health conditions have special dietary needs and benefit from specific types of foods and dietary approaches. How do we choose the best diet for each client that we work with or for ourselves? There are numerous diets recommended by health professionals and various organizations, such as the elimination diet, gluten free, gluten-casein free, low glycemic, ketogenic, candida, body ecology, gut and psychology syndrome (GAPS), specific carbohydrate, high fiber-high carbohydrate, low-calorie, traditional diets, and several others. This presentation will discuss key points and strategies that will help guide you to determine the best diet for each person. Liz Lipski, PhD, CCN, CHN, is board certified in Clinical Nutrition & Holistic Nutrition. She has been working in the field of nutrition, holistic health, herbology, lifestyle management, relaxation and visualization techniques for over 30 years. She is the Director of Doctoral Studies, and Educational Director at Hawthorn University. Liz is the author of Digestive Wellness, Leaky Gut Syndrome, & Digestive Wellness for Children. Liz is also adjunct faculty at Saybrook University. She is on faculty and an alumni member of the Nutrition Advisory Board for the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), on the advisory board for Food as Medicine, and special advisor to the board of the National Association for Nutrition Professionals.
