"Reducing Your Breast Cancer Risk" with Helayne Waldman, Ed.D., M.S.

In this lively webinar Dr. Helayne Waldman will talk us through the known risk factors that affect every woman's chances of developing breast cancer and what she can do about them. Based on the extensive research that went into her book, The Whole Food Guide for Breast Cancer Survivors, Helayne will demonstrate how toxicity, blood glucose and insulin levels, inflammation, immune status, gut and liver health, estrogen metabolism and most of all our diet influences the expression of genes that are proliferative or protective. She'll also cover which nutrients have been shown in the literature to have protective properties and which nutrients can be problematic. After a long career in media and education, Helayne Waldman decided to pursue her passion for nutrition and healthy living at Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition. Upon graduating, she opened a practice in Oakland, California where she specializes in breast cancer support, weight and blood sugar management and healthy aging. She is a current faculty member at Bauman College, on the Board of The Annie Appleseed Project (advancing education and advocacy for people with cancer) and writes and lectures widely in the San Francisco Bay Area.
