Come and learn about Ayurvedic nutrition. Ayurvedic medicine is the ancient medical system of India. In this system there are three types of energies that dominate who we are: Pitta, Kapha, and Vata. These are called doshas. Each of us is a blend of these three dosha types. Specific foods and tastes help to balance our emotions and health. John Immel will give us an introduction to this science and offer practical tools to try. John Joseph Immel is director and founder of Joyful Belly, an Ayurvedic digestion clinic and the leading website on Ayurvedic dieting. His academic credentials include: • Graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute taught by Dr. Vasant Lad. • Harvard University Bachelor of Arts Degree 1996 He is a faculty member at the Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism, director of Ayurveda for Yoga Spirit Studios, and writes for the Light on Ayurveda Journal.
