"Infertility: An Alternative Approach" with Marcelle Pick, RNC, MSN, OB/GYN NP.wmv

Infertility is a common issue for women today -- and we are finding that is may not solely be a medical problem. Many patients benefit greatly from conventional wisdom, but as practitioners we must be aware that infertility treatments might need to consist of more than balancing hormones or treating blocked fallopian tubes. Today, more than every both the causes and treatments for infertility are expanding. Many traditional infertility programs are costly to patients, emotionally draining and may not result in a much desired pregnancy. We will discuss the new breed of endocrine disruptors present into today's world, how a patient's own emotional history may affect fertility as well as the tried and true alternative therapies which are can be used. Ms. Pick co-founded Women to Women, a leading women's healthcare center in 1983 with a vision to change the way in which women's healthcare is delivered. In her practice, Ms. Pick undertakes a holistic approach that not only treats illness, but also helps women make choices in their lives to prevent disease. Ms. Pick earned a BS in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire School of Nursing, a BA in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire, and her MS in Nursing from Boston College--Harvard Medical School. She is certified as an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Nurse Practitioner Association and American Holistic Nurses Association. Ms Pick has served as Medical Advisor to Healthy Living Magazine, lectures on a variety of topics and appears regularly on radio and television as a women's health expert. She authors a bi-monthly e-newsletter and published her first book, The Core Balance Diet in 2009. Ms. Pick's second book, Are You Tired and Wired? is scheduled for publication in early 2011.
