Rethinking Inflammation as Repair Deficits with Dr. Russell M. Jaffe, MD, PhD, CCN

To achieve optimum health, the body needs to be in a state of tolerance and homeostasis. The immune system defends the body, protecting it from disease and repairs whenever needed. When this defense mechanism is breached, repair takes a back seat. Inflammation is another word for repair deficit. Dr. Jaffe will be discussing the nuts and bolts of how to achieve optimum health, boost the immune system and combat inflammation. Dr. Jaffe has had the privilege of contributing to the "birth" of modern integrative medicine. He works from first principles of biology to clarify the causal mechanisms of good health and ill health. His over 100 articles and invited reviews attest to his professional contributions. Dr. Jaffe is the founder and lab director of Elisa Act Biotechnologies and Perque nutritional supplements. He received his MD from Boston University School of Medicine in 1972 and completed residence in clinical chemistry at the National Institutes of Health. He is board certified in Clinical Pathology and in Chemical Pathology. He has received many awards for his work; most recently he was awarded the International Scientist of the year by the International Biographical Commission for his contributions to medicine, biochemistry, and clinical immunology.
