Laboratory tests are procedures that involve testing samples of blood, urine, saliva or other tissues or substances in the body. While a physician utilizes lab tests to diagnose a disease or condition, there is also a non-diagnostic use of testing that can be utilized in the nutrition practice. As a nutrition consultant, you can teach your clients how to consider their lab test results from a nutritional perspective and to help answer questions such as, "Is my body functioning optimally?" or "What organs or systems need nutritional support?" Laboratory values can help the nutrition professional to tailor their nutritional protocols to the unique individual needs and biochemistry of their clients. Utilizing lab values in practice can assist the practitioner and client to identify which nutritional goals to prioritize, plan the nutritional protocol, evaluate the response to a healing plan and monitor the progress in reaching those goals. In this webinar, you will learn which laboratory tests can be useful in the nutrition practice and where your clients can order these tests using client-direct lab testing services.
