Since the Industrial Revolution in the mid 1700's, tens of thousands of new chemicals have been introduced into the environment. These new toxic chemicals have found their way inside human bodies and are now contributing to ill health worldwide. However, there are solutions for reducing exposure and supporting the body with the healing power of natural remedies. In this webinar we will identify toxins and their health consequences, discuss how the human body reacts to toxin exposure, and provide solutions for cleansing the body and transitioning to a non-toxic lifestyle. Katherine Leonard is a Holistic Nutritionist with a Master's in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University. She is a member of NANP and a candidate for Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition®. Her passion for holistic health was sparked by her interest in organic permaculture and concern for the increasing toxicity of the earth. Katherine works with her clients to help rejuvenate their lifestyles and detoxify their bodies. Katherine's interest in the healing power of natural living has inspired her to continue her education. In September 2013, Katherine will be pursuing a 4-year doctorate in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Naturopathic medicine emphasizes prevention and the self-healing process through natural therapies. Katherine plans to use her background in holistic nutrition, combined with the new therapies she will learn in medical school (such as botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and traditional Chinese and Indian medicine) to help others find their health through natural medicine.
